Weddings

Wedding favors your guests actually keep.

A card with your photograph on the front and your wedding video hidden inside it. Guests hold a phone to it and the day starts playing — at the reception, and again every anniversary after. Nothing to download, nothing to explain to your grandmother.

$12.00 a card at 100 · shipped within 24 hours · Swap the video after the wedding

A wedding favor card printed with a couple's photograph, beside a phone playing their wedding video

Why this one works

Almost every favor gets thrown away on the drive home.

Sugared almonds, a personalized bottle opener, a tiny succulent that dies by Thursday. Couples spend two to five dollars a head on things guests carry out of politeness and bin at the first opportunity, and everybody involved knows it.

A card that plays your wedding video does not get binned, because throwing it away means throwing away the video. It goes in a drawer, and it comes back out — when the guest’s own kids ask about the wedding, when your anniversary comes round, when somebody visits and sees it on a shelf. That is the difference between a souvenir and a keepsake, and it is the only reason to spend more than two dollars a guest.

At $12.00 a card in a set of 100 — $1,200.00 for the set, shipping included — it costs about what a decent favor costs, and it is the only one still in the house in five years.

The good trick

Order before the wedding. Add the film after.

Videographers take weeks. Your guests should not have to wait for them, and you should not have to mail two hundred envelopes twice.

  1. 01

    Print with your engagement photo

Names and the date on the front — the same card you would have printed as stationery. Ready weeks before the day.

  2. 02

    Point it at something now

A sixty-second thank-you the two of you film on a phone the week before. Guests tap it at the reception and get your voices on the night itself, which is better than an empty page.

  3. 03

Swap in the wedding film when it lands

One change on your end. Every card already in a guest’s drawer now opens the real thing. Nothing is reprinted and nothing is mailed twice.

What to put on it

Front, back, and the video inside.

THE FRONT

One photograph, your names, the date

An engagement photo works better than a posed portrait — guests recognize the two of you rather than a studio setup. Keep the type to names and a date; the card is small and the picture is the point.

THE BACK

A thank you, or the instructions

Either “Thank you for being part of our day” in your own wording, or the plain “Hold your phone here” back that tells a guest what to do. A dollar a card, and worth it for a room of people who have never tapped a card before.

THE VIDEO

Three to five minutes, no longer

The ceremony highlight and the first dance. Guests watch a three-minute film to the end and abandon a twenty-minute one — and you can always change it later, so start short.

THE EXTRA

Names, if they double as place cards

Print the guest name on the back and one card does favor and escort card at once. Tell us at checkout and we will set the print up per name.

Before you order

What couples ask

How many should we order for 120 guests?

Most couples do one per household rather than one per head, which for 120 guests is usually 70 to 80 cards — so the 100 set, with spares. If you want one for every guest, take the 150. Quantities are fixed, so round up to the next set.

Can we order before the wedding and add the video afterwards?

Yes, and it is the best way to do it. Put your engagement photo on the front, hand the cards out at the reception, then swap in the wedding film when your videographer delivers it. Every card your guests took home starts playing the real thing — no reprinting, no second mailing.

Can every card point at a different video?

It can. Most couples use one video for the whole set, but if you want a different message for each table, or for the parents, email hello@itsdote.com with the order and we will set them up separately.

Can they double as place cards or escort cards?

They work well for it — print the guest name on the back and the card does both jobs, which means you are not paying for favors and stationery separately. The printed back is a dollar a card.

What about guests whose phones are too old to tap?

Every iPhone since 2018 and virtually every Android reads it with nothing installed. For the handful of older phones, the "Hold your phone here" printed back helps, and you can always send those guests the link directly — it is an ordinary web address.

Can we keep the video private?

Yes. Put a password on it and only people you give it to can watch. Some couples leave it open until the last guest has gone home and then lock it — you can change that at any time, from either side of the wedding.

How long before the wedding should we order?

Cards are printed and shipped within 24 hours, so you do not need months of lead time. Two weeks out is comfortable. If your date is tighter than that, say so at checkout and we will make sure it lands.

Do you do a sample first?

For a set this size, yes — email hello@itsdote.com before you order and we will send one card so you can tap it yourself before committing to a hundred and fifty.
